What causes Vaginal dryness?

Generally, it is due to lack  of or low estrogen levels when menopause occurs. It can be from an underlying medical condition, or using harsh soaps. The inside of the vagina does not need to be washed, just the external area. Use warm water and mild soap.    

What are the symptoms of Vaginal dryness?

Painful sexual intercourse, bladder irritation that can lead to frequent urination or sometimes spotting after intercourse.

How is vaginal dryness diagnosed?

Based on the history of pain with intercourse, visually the vagina will be redder and smooth surface rather than pink with folds.

How do you treat Vaginal dryness?

Lubricants, estrogen both orally or vaginally or transdermally.
